Dog walking & Sitting FAQ's
Common Questions
How long is each dog walk?
Walks are half an hour or an hour long, depending on you and your dog’s needs. This does not include pick up and drop off time.
What areas do you cover?
I cover Bournemouth and the close surrounding areas. Although, please get in touch as I may be able to extend to your area.
Will my dog be in a group walk?
No, in a nutshell. I prefer to walk your dog without distraction so they can socialise with other dogs on their terms, especially helpful with a nervous or older dog.
Same household dogs are walked a maximum of 2 dogs at a time, at £4.50 per additional dog
Where do the walks take place?
My walks consist of a mix of your dogs regular route, within your own area and some green walks a little further afield for added variety.
Should I be here for the collect & drop off?
No... most of my clients are comfortable with me holding a key to their property.
All keys are securely kept and never state your address or contact.
What is your COVID-19 Policy?
In order to keep us all safe, our initial meeting will be socially distanced and if inside, I will wear a mask. I’ll always maintain good hand hygiene whilst collecting and dropping off your dog. If using your own lead or collar, these will be wiped over. For more information, please visit the forms section of this website.
Will my dog be on a leash?
Dogs are typically walked on leash. However, this can be discussed during our initial meeting. If your preference is for walks off lead, your dog must have good recall. Mutual trust is required which can take time to establish.
Are you a qualified dog walker?
I am a registered member of the Professional Dog Walkers Association (PDWA) and fully PDWA accredited, including Canine, Feline and Small Animal First Aid.
Are you fully insured?
Yes, Woof and Walks are fully insured and DBS checked. Please feel free to download a copy of my policy documents from the Forms section of this website.
What if there's an emergency?
I will contact you immediately in the unfortunate event of an emergency and take your pet to your local or the nearest vet if veterinary aid is required.
What is your cancellation policy?
Not a problem... I'm easy-going and understand there are times when you don't need me to walk your dog. You can cancel at anytime and I only require 24hrs notice if you wish to cancel or reduce the walks.
What is a dog sitter?
Dog Sitting or pop-in's involve a dog sitter travelling to an owner's property to keep company and care for the family dog. This service is ideal for owners away for long periods of time.
